PA and Simulation Hardware

This shows the computational capability used to run the Phase 2 Pilot's Associate and
the supporting simulation environment.  Each chassis was a standard VME backplane.  The top
chassis was for the simulation.  It contained four R3000 processor boards, together with shared memory,
a Lockheed built event processor and the usual support peripherals.  The lower chassis was the PA processors.
Four Motorola 68040 boards and an R3000 board were augmented by the same event processor and a special-
purpose board set (connected with blue cables)  for computing optimal routes in real time.
